This is going to be long because I think detailed reviews are very important. We had a two part job- one for the installation of two new gas lines for a new clothes dryer and a gas range. The second was a furnace replacement. The gas line was a no-brainer. All Fuel is a preferred contractor for NW Natural. That alone was a good enough reason to go with them for the gas lines. The furnace replacement I was more concerned about because the overwhelming number of reviews deal with everything OTHER than furnace replacement. Nonetheless I had them out to bid on both projects separately and together. I had two other companies bid- same thing, separately and together. All Fuel was not the cheapest bid, nor the most expensive- it was right in the mix- which is a sign of honesty IMO. So now, which one to pick... Garrett, who is the gentleman who came out on behalf of All Fuel, was fabulous. He discussed things none of the other vendors discussed about what I needed and why. He measured windows, took down direction(s) that parts of my house was facing, walked around and really seemed to think about it- rather than just instantly tell me what I needed without considering my actual situation (like the other bidders did). Then he recommended a particular furnace size that was smaller than what I already had and despite me semi-pushing him for a bigger unit (the size i already had). He was steadfast that, based on what he saw and investigated, what I already had was too big for my house and he did not try to upsell me on the bigger unit. (on a side note, the recommended size was the same that the other bidders recommended- one of whom re-bid the project with the larger furnace because I asked about it- not because I needed it). In any event, I became much more comfortable about All Fuel for the furnace replacement as a result of all of the above. The thing that pushed me over the finish line is.... I called Bryant and asked about All Fuel. They couldn't tell me anything specific due to privacy issues, but the guy did tell me that 1) he knew who All Fuel was; 2) they didn't have any complaints on file; and 3) THAT THEY ARE APPROVED TO DO WARRANTY WORK ON THE UNITS. So I thought to myself, if the manufacturer has approved them to work on the units under warranty, they certainly must be capable to install a brand new unit. And with that information, the deal was sealed! Fast forward ONE WEEK, and the crew was out and did a perfect installation of the gas lines and the furnace, all in one day. And with the furnace, it turned out to be a more complicated job due to size restrictions in the install location but they spent an hour or two figuring out the best way to do it and it worked our perfectly. The crew was excellent and did excellent work. The bid also included one return trip to connect the new appliances if they were not read at the time of the install. They honored this without hesitation and in fact returned a day earlier than our scheduled date because my new appliances arrived early. That install/connection also went perfectly. And last but not least, customer service was perfect before, during and after install. Oh wait, one more thing. I had a small rattle develop in the furnace about a month after install and I called customer service to let them know. A tech was out the same day, and fixed the issue immediately (the issue was not install related- rather a piece of foam lining the side of the furnace box had shifted slightly and was causing another part to rattle). So there you have it. I will be working with them again! Highly recommended!
